Citizen Action of Wisconsin endorses Duman

PORT WASHINGTON, WI:             Perry Duman, Democratic candidate for the 60th district Assembly seat, has received the endorsement of Citizen Action of Wisconsin.

In a letter from Matthew Brusky, Political Director of Citizen Action of Wisconsin, Mr Brusky states, “On behalf of Citizen Action of Wisconsin’s over 90,000 statewide members, I am happy to inform you that we have endorsed your candidacy for State Assembly in 2008.  Citizen Action believes this election is critically important to the health of Wisconsin and our country.  We hope you are successful in your campaign and look forward to working with you in 2009 to guarantee access to affordable quality health care for all Wisconsin citizens.”

Citizen Action recently launched their “Got Healthcare?” initiative, a state-wide grassroots campaign to show politicians that health care reform is at the top of the public’s agenda.

Perry Duman is running on a strong progressive agenda and is a vocal proponent of the Healthy Wisconsin plan.  “I am totally committed to bringing quality affordable health care to every child, woman, and man in Wisconsin.  Citizen Action reports that a typical family would save 40% under Healthy Wisconsin.  And it helps businesses, too.  We need Healthy Wisconsin now.”

Mr Duman is a resident of Port Washington and is employed as a program facilitator at a group home for developmentally disabled adults.  The 60th Assembly district includes the city and town of Cedarburg, the village and town of Grafton, the village of Newburg, the town of Trenton, the village and town of Saukville, and the city and town of Port Washington.

Citizen Action of Wisconsin is an issue focused coalition of individuals and organizations committed to achieving social, economic, and environmental justice.  Citizen Action has over 90,000 individual members from all over Wisconsin, from each of the 99 State Assembly districts, and from all walks of life.  Their members are rural and urban; young and old; lower, middle, and upper income; male and female; multi-racial; and have different faiths and political persuasions.  Citizen Action brings people together across issue lines and unites over 100 dues-paying affiliates in the fight for a better future for Wisconsin families and communities.  They also work with many organizations across the broader "progressive coalition."  Their partners include the state's leading labor, senior citizen, environmental, community, interfaith, women's, family farm, teachers’, and civil rights organizations and Native American tribes.
